'That's What Sisters Do!'

Before we went to Granna's for Thanksgiving, we were worried how Evan and his cousin Kyle who is five would get along. According to Evan, Kyle broke his transformers and his favorite scorpion lego and destroyed the big lego boat he spent a year to build when he came to visit us a couple of years ago. Even though we keep on telling him that Kyle was just a "baby" at the time and that's what babies do, he still gets very upset and tears up whenever we talk about it.

Well, the two seemed to get along fine this time. Granna took both of them to a Christmas light show the night before we came back from Thanksgiving. She told me that the two boys talked the entire time at the back seats on their way back and it cracked her up listening to them. The following is one of the conversations she heard.

Kyle told Evan that not long ago they went to visit Aunt Ashlie and her family and he got to ride the golf cart at her backyard and it was a lot of fun. "You want to ride with Will (their oldest cousin). Don't ride with Morgan (Kyle's sister who is a little younger than Olivia) as she is a bad driver. But don't tell her I said that though as she will be mad. If she gets mad, she will spit the fire and slap your face!"

Kyle went on telling Evan that one time Morgan was mad at him and "she slapped my face."

"Well Kyle, that's what sisters do." Evan "consoled" him or related to him.

I couldn’t stop laughing when I heard about this. I didn't know where Evan got this idea as we have zero tolerance of face slapping or any slapping in that matter at our home. Evan and Olivia do argue and sometimes do get physical if both of them are really mad. We would pull them apart right away if that happens and I don't recall at all that Evan has complained about being slapped by his sister (he will complain if he feels being wronged). Well, maybe something did happen behind our back that we didn't know. No matter what, I thought Evan's comment was so funny J.
