Mommy\'s No.1 Job

I accidentally burned my wrist while I was cooking a couple of days ago. The wound is over one inch long and dark red in color with a big blister on top of it. It is pretty noticeable.

Noticed that Evan was staring at my wound when I was helping him washing his hands today after he made a big mess with the melted chocholate, I tried to warn him about playing in the kitchen area.

"Look at mommy's boo-boo,remember I told you not to play in the kitchen area while I am cooking? It is very dangerous and if you play in there while the burner is on, you may get a boo-boo like this one or even worse, and it hurts a lot once you get burned."

After hearing what I said, Evan looked up, with his big eyes staring at me, he said: "Mom, your No.1 job is to keep me safe." He sounded so serious which to me was very cuteJ.

"Is that right?" I pretended to be surprised.

"Yeah! My teacher said if she can not keep me and my friends safe at the daycare, she will get fired. And if you can't keep me and Olivia safe at home, you will be fired too." He explained.

"Okay, but who is going to fire me?" I asked on purpose, curious about what he might say.

He thought for a second and said: "I don't know, the teacher didn't tell us."
