One night last week, I read a book titled "Ten Fishes" to Evan which he borrowed from the
daycare library. At the end of the story, after all other fishes were gone, the last fish
found a friend and fell in love. The two of them became mommy and daddy and had ten babies.
"How many babies do I have, Evan?" I asked him.
"Two! Evan and Olivia!" he answered very enthusiastically.
"How many babies does Daddy have then?" knowing him being a mommy's boy, I asked him on
purpose.
"Olivia!" ha-ha, just as I expected.
"And? Are you Daddy's baby too?"
"No, I am mommy's baby, I want to stay with you!" he answered acting like a spoiled child.
"Are you going to stay with me forever? Are you going to leave me after you grow up to be
a big boy?"
"No! I am going to stay with you and give you lots of hugs and kisses."
Oh, even if it seems unfair to Daddy, but my heart warms up every time he says something
like that and I would be lying if I say I don’t like to hear it :).
"That's sweet, honey. But you know you are Daddy's baby too. I know you are just joking,
right?"
He smiled and nodded his head.
