The 'Cars' Pull-Ups

Everything is about the “Cars” these days. 

Evan’s teacher told me yesterday that wearing pull-ups at daycare would probably help Evan’s potty training. So I went to Wal-Mart last night and guess what I found, the “Cars” pull-ups. Evan of course was very happy and wore one right away.  

This morning, the first thing he said to me after he woke up was: “I want my car diaper." 

Then we went downstairs and saw daddy. Evan went to him and said: “Daddy, I am wearing car diaper to school today, see!” I thought he was just going to point at pull-ups we were going to take to the daycare, but he pulled his short down entirely and decided that he did not want to wear the short anymore. 

“I am not going to wear pants. I am going to wear my car diaper to school.” He declared. 

Finally, with the threat of not letting him wear the “car diaper” anymore, he put on the short and we drove to daycare. 

After he got off the car at the daycare, the first thing he said was: “Mommy, do not forget the car diaper.” He even helped me to carry the shopping bag. 

Evan showed Olivia’s teachers his “car diaper” in the bag when we dropped her off and then he carried the bag himself to his class, so eager to show them to his teachers. 

When we showed up by the door, four boys and girls saw him and immediately ran over calling him with a smiling face: “Evan! Evan!” I was actually moved. Looked like the little guy actually made some friends during his first day at school.  

Evan, however, did not pay much attention to them and went directly to his teacher and showed her the pull-ups in the shopping bag. His teacher went: “Oh, look! It’s the ‘Cars’ pull-ups, it’s so cool!”   

Evan was apparently very happy to see that his teacher was excited about his “car diaper” too. Afraid she didn't know, he announced to her: “I am wearing the car diaper today!” and started to pull his short again.  

Oh, oh… I took his hand off from his short and said to him: “Honey, you don’t have to pull your pants down to show your teacher. She knows that you are wearing a car diaper, okay?”
