Not Good Wasting Food

Opened the fridge to prepare the dinner, noticed some Korean seafood vegetable cake which I totally forgot. They felt somewhat slimy when I took them out and did not smell quite right, so I decided to toss them out.

While I was throwing them into the trash can, Olivia asked me:

“What are you doing mommy?” 

“I have to throw these away because they turned bad.” I said.

“That’s wasting food” she said. “And it’s not good to waste food. Remember a lot of kids do not even have food to eat? Like those kids in Africa we saw on TV?”

That is exactly what I told her when I specifically made her watch some clips of the Live 8 concert when they showed the children in Africa battling their lives from hunger. And I have been telling her how lucky she is to have food to eat unlike those children on TV whenever she is picky about it or does not want to finish the food on her plate.

Looks like it does have effect on her except that she used it on me instead.
