Blue House

From about two and half years old until four and half, Olivia had an imaginary house she called the “Blue House”. It was practically part of her life as she mentioned it almost everyday.

Inside this “Blue House”, she has a mommy Kelly who is ALWAYS nice to her no matter what and later on she mentioned about a Chinese daddy whose name I already forgot (it did sound like an oriental name though). Also in this house, she has her favorite animals such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, kitty cats, and birds and so on. There is a farm around this house where her horses and cows live and she also has a red car.

According to her, once in a while she would go there and sleep with the animals in the blue house that her other mommy Kelly takes very good care of. Our house, on the other hand, would be referred to as the “White House”.

At one point time of the day, Olivia would tell us the fun she had in the blue house with mommy Kelly and all the animals whether it was in her dream or really happened.

“Really, I am not kidding!”

Whenever we were asked her:“Wow, can we go to visit your blue house too?” she would immediately shake her head and said “No, it is too far away”.

There were quite some times when she was upset by my discipline, she would go: “Mommy, you are not nice to me. You hurt my feelings so I am going to leave you and go to my other mommy Kelly in the blue house and you will be sad. Kelly is always nice to me.”

“Okay, so how are you going to get there, honey?”

“I will drive my red car.”

“But your red car is in the blue house, plus you are too short to drive. You can not even see the road.”

“I will take Chu-Chu train then.”

“There is a Chu-Chu train to go to the blue house?”

“Ah-ha!”
