李紳

 

（一）

春種一粒粟，秋收萬顆子。

四海無閑田，農夫猶餓死。

 

（二）

鋤禾日當午，汗滴禾下土。

誰知盤中餐，粒粒皆辛苦？

 

1.  憫：同情。

2.  粟：於第二首中的“禾”都泛指穀物。

3.  猶：依然。

Sympathy for Peasants

1.

In spring, one seed of millet was sown,

in autumn, myriad grains were grown.

No idle farmland was seen or known,

Yet the peasant still hungered to his bone.

Hoeing in the paddy under the mid-day sun，

Sweat dripping to the soil underneath the plant.

Who knows that the meals in our plates，

Every morsel of them comes with toil and pain.
