Nothing. If is there a real impact on the cross-strait relation, then the impact is negligibly small. The cross-strait relation is not determined by Taiwan. It is determined by China and the US. If the strait is at peace now, it will be at peace after the election.

Whatever the outcome of the election, the Taiwan Strait will be at peace because the US cannot afford another war on top of the Ukraine War and Gaza War. The worst scenario is Lai Ching-te getting elected. But Lai is not Netanyahu and he dares not drag the US into a War of Taiwan Strait. China is no Hamass and will not attack Taiwan all of a sudden.

The US has long been wishing a war in the Taiwan Strait so to weaken China. But 2024 is not the time.

Ignore whatever happens in Taiwan, election or not. Don’t pretend Taiwan is an independent regime. It is not. It is a puppet of the US. All politicians in Taiwan cannot offend the US. Be it DPP KMT, or whatever parties, they cannot determine when to have a war in the Taiwan Strait. The trade with the mainland is also manipulated by the US. The chip war of the US is destroying the chip industry of Taiwan. It is not what the mainland wants and not what Taiwan wants, but Taiwan has no say. Taiwan acts just like all the allies of the US. China cannot help too.

Taiwan will return to China sooner or later. Don’t blame Xi for China to unite Taiwan. Regardless of who is the president of China, no one dares to allow Taiwan to become an independent state. Understand the politics of China. Taiwan belongs to China’s sovereignty. No politicians dare to give up this sovereignty.

Don’t deceive yourself. Don’t pretend Taiwanese people can determine their fate because they have “democracy”. The Taiwan election is the biggest political show of all the Western elections. Not even the US election or Indian election has such spectacular political rallies. If the Western countries are so proud of their democracy, they should be ashamed compared with Taiwan's “democracy”. Taiwan is more “democratic” than all and any of the Western countries. Taiwan's democracy seems more functioning than the US democracy. Why does the US want China to be democratic? Why the US wants all other countries to be democratic? If democracy can let people determine the affairs of their own countries, what is the US hegemony for? The Western democracy is to let the country be controlled by the US, the hegemony. The US declares all the countries that are not under the US control undemocratic.

Look at the Taiwan election. What a show of Western democracy. And what a joke that they cannot determine their political agenda. DPP’s platform is Taiwan's independence. DPP has ruled Taiwan for a long time already. But they cannot implement their platform because the US doesn’t allow it and China doesn’t allow it.
