『道德經 第二十三章 』（天地尚不能久，而況於人乎）

 道德經上篇：《道經》

 

 第二十三章

 

【原文】

希言自然。故飄風不終朝，驟雨不終日。孰為此者，天地。天地尚不能久，而況於人乎。故從事於道者，同於道；德者，同於德；失者，同於失。同於道者，道亦樂得之；同於德者，德亦樂得之；同於失者，失亦樂得之。信不足焉，有不信焉。

 

【譯文】

不言政令少擾民是合乎自然的，所以再大的狂風也刮不過一個早上，再大的暴雨也下不了一整天。誰製造的狂風暴雨呢？是天地。興風起雨尚且不能持久，何況人呢？所以從事於道的，就同於道；從事於德的，就同於德；失道失德的，行為就是暴戾恣肆。凡是同於道的人，道也會樂於得到他；凡是同於德的人，德也樂於得到他；凡是同於失道失德的，就會得到失道失德的後果。統治者的誠信不足，人民自然不會相信他。

To speak little is natural.
High winds will not howl the entire morning;
A downpour will not last the entire day.
Who is behind the wind and the rain?
Heaven and earth.
Even heaven and earth cannot last long;
How can humanity?
Therefore, those who follow Tao identify with Tao;
Those who have virtue identify with virtue;
Those who are lost identify with loss.
Tao accepts those who identify with Tao;
Virtue welcomes those who identify with it;
Loss embraces those who identify with it.
Distrust is due to lack of faith.
