踏實的階梯 (The Stone Steps of Reassurance)

晚飯後，一群法師跟著師父出了小齋堂，沿著石階往客堂方向走，某法師邊走邊抱怨：“這石階好長，爬起來好累，師父你為什麽蓋這石階？”

師傅道：“這才踏實啊！”

傍晚太陽雖西沉，但美麗的月亮，卻照出寂靜的山和道人的生活。

After dinner, a group of mages followed their master out of the small vegetarian cafeteria and walked along the stone steps toward the guest hall. While walking, one of the mages complained about how tired he was from climbing the long stone steps. Then he asked: “Master, why did you build such long stone steps?”

The master answered: “This is reassuring!”

Although the sun had set, the beautiful moon still illuminated the silent mountains and the lives of the Taoists.
