沿著通往BARK PARK 公園的馬路上行走，路邊的草地上散落著橡子。時不時地，還會有一兩粒的橡子從空中落下，初時聽那“呯”的落地悶響，想必頭被砸一下還會有點疼，因而要去躲避。可再一想，被那小小的堅果輕砸一下，也許就是與幸運撞頭，便也從容不迫地繼續沿著路緣行走。
I walk along the sand-clay road adjoining the small area of woods to the Bark Park. The road is scattered with a handful of acorns. One after another, the acorns occasionally fall with a dull "plunk" on the ground. If my head was hit by an acorn, it would hurt. With the thought in my mind, I walk out of the cover of the oak trees. No, accidently was hit by an acorn wouldn’t be that painful, but it’s a luck. the little elf living inside me who would like to take a minor risk in trading an entertainment tells me.
I am convinced by walking back to my previous route. Straightening my back and lifting my head up, I keep walking ahead with no worry.
從眾多落地的橡子中撿起兩粒體形飽滿的握在手掌中，然後抬頭望天。清亮的天空下，欲與天宮試比高的橡木頂處，一隻小鬆鼠正在一根橫樹枝上左右來往跑，想必它在忙著築窩。現在見到草地上落的帶著一片片綠葉的橡木枝條，我再也不會心生疑問了。還有另一種更大，棕黑色堅殼的果子，不知是何種樹木(shagbarkhickory胡桃木： 三種不同的胡桃木有其共性：都有堅果，葉子到了秋天都會變成美麗的金黃色，是秋季最主要的賞葉樹之一)。也隨手撿上兩粒，四粒堅果一起被裝進了口袋，我這是要把疑問帶回家，看到它們就會提醒我去尋找到答案。想也覺得有趣，生活就是沒事找事：養花，養寵物，興趣愛好，甚至是養兒養女不都是如此嗎？
In the grass and on the road, I see more acorns, from them I pick up two. Holding them in my hand, I look up, intending to see their origin. Under the clear sky, the upwards growing branches from a big oak tree stretch up robustly, seems like inviting a height competition with the sky. On one branch, a squirrel is running back and forth. By constantly delivering the twigs to a spot, he/she is busy on building her/his new nest. In the past, whenever I saw the oak twigs with vigorous green leaves on the ground, I always wondered what happened, yesterday was not windy. It’s kind of a mystery in my mind for quite a while, but not anymore.
Keep walking, I see a different type of fruit with hard shell on the ground. they are black, bigger than acorns. I pick up two, together with the two acorns, I put them in my pocket.
