Oceanside Pier

      The pier, one of the earlilst and longest of its kind, was first built in 1888 at downtown seafront, Oceanside, California. Four iterations of the pier were built and then, again and again, destroyed by heavy storms. The current one was rebuilt and opened to the public in 1987.

畢雨灑梁桁    箕風掃四生
平潮升海晏    遏浪掩河清
落日蒸雲赤    流霞淬火晶
水連天一色    晝與夜交晴

畢雨、箕風：畢、箕，均為星名。【漢】孔安國：“箕星好風也，畢星好雨，亦如民之有所好也。”
