>> The 1 greatest measure of success in life:
Warren Buffett said: When you're nearing your end of life, your only measure of success should be the number of“people you want to have love you actually do love you,” he answered. “The problem with love is that it’s not for sale,” “The only way to get love is to be lovable. It’s very irritating if you have a lot of money. You’d like to think you could write a check: I’ll buy a million dollars’ worth of love. But it doesn’t work that way. The more you give love away, the more you get.”
>> The most important decision:
Buffett: “The most important for most people, in terms of that decision, is their spouse.”“You want to pick a spouse that's a little bit better than you are. Then he or she, you hope they don't figure it out too fast,”“You want to associate with people that are better than you are,” he says. “And you want to have the right heroes.”“You want to associate with people who are the kind of person you’d like to be. You’ll move in that direction,” he said. “And the most important person by far in that respect is your spouse. I can’t overemphasize how important that is.” “You're looking for three things, generally, in a person: intelligence, energy, and integrity. And if they don't have the last one, don't even bother with the first two.”
>> The most important investment:
Buffett says “Ultimately, there’s one investment that supersedes all others: Invest in yourself,” “Nobody can take away what you’ve got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven’t used yet.” >> Invest in yourself, and in particular, try to improve your communication skills. “If you can't communicate to somebody, it's like winking at a girl in the dark,”1. Listen first. 2. Remember, it's not just what you say; it's how you say it. 3. Think before you speak (or write). 4. Strive for clarity. >> Take care of your mind and body. “You get exactly one mind and one body in this world. And you can't start taking care of it when you're 50,”
