在世界其他國家的讀者看來，英國最偉大的小說是哪些？BBC文化頻道的供稿人簡·恰巴塔裏（Jane Ciabattari）收集了82個書評家的投票，這些書評家從澳大利亞到津巴布韋的各個國家都有——但沒有一個是來自英國的。
書單裏沒有非虛構類作品，沒有劇本，沒有敘事詩或史詩（沒有《失樂園》和《貝奧武夫》），沒有短篇小說集（沒有《亞瑟王之死》（Morte D’Arthur））——隻有英國作家的小說（這意味著沒有詹姆斯·喬伊斯（James Joyce，愛爾蘭作家））
