劇 情：

　　《走出非洲》是一部表現得而複失－喪失了像田園詩一般美好、質樸生活的影片。梅麗爾.斯特裏普扮演的女主人公卡倫是丹麥一個富家女，她美麗、聰穎、性情深沉、感情豐富、但虛榮心較強。為了博得男爵夫人的稱號，負氣之下與遠在非洲的布裏克森男爵結婚。卡倫對非洲的原始森林、野生動物十分感興趣，並因此認識了英國人丹尼斯，丹尼斯在一次偶然的機會幫助她脫離獅口，兩人成為了朋友。並十分欣賞對方。

　　布裏克森男爵生活極其放蕩，並因此得了梅毒，還傳染給了卡倫，為了治病，卡倫不得不回丹麥。歸來後布裏克森男爵已離家出走，倆人的婚姻名存實亡。卡倫與丹尼斯的關係更見密切，兩人時常同遊非洲大草原，度過了一段美好的時光。卡倫獨立經營非洲的農場，還辦起了土著人學校，並為此傾注了極大的愛心和精力。

　　不幸的是在1930年左右，她剛剛豐收的咖啡園慘遭火災，幾乎燒成灰燼。因經濟拮據，她不得不賣出莊園。禍不單行，與此同時，打算和她長期廝守的丹尼斯卻因駕機失事墜入山穀而喪生。在經濟和感情上的雙重打擊下，卡倫不得不告別度過了她青春歲月的非洲，滿懷哀怨悵惘離開了她這片曾經帶給她痛苦、愛和勇氣的土地……

　　1986年的奧斯卡金像獎的評選中，《走出非洲》一舉奪得了最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳改編劇本、最佳配樂、最佳攝影、最佳美工、最佳音響7項獎，是當年美國影壇的最大贏家。在1995年美國《時代周刊》和《華爾街日報》等媒體綜合評價中，《走出非洲》也高居1985年10部最賣座影片的前列。

　　這部影片由三部小說改編而成，它們分別是丹麥女作家艾薩克丹森的小說《走出非洲》、《草地上的影子》、朱迪思瑟曼寫的傳記《艾薩克丹森，一位小說家的一生》和埃羅爾特爾澤賓斯基寫的傳記《沉默將被打破》。影片最吸引人指出在於：不僅影片蘊含有動人的浪漫故事，還有迷人的非洲風光。影片所有外景都是在肯尼亞實地拍攝，這也是吸引廣大美國觀眾的特點之一。

　　電影結合了大導演西德尼.波拉克；著名演員梅麗爾.斯特裏普、羅伯特.雷德福等，使得影片製作有相當的水準，把一部情節平淡、節奏緩慢，文學氣息濃厚的影片拍的如此成功，精良的製作小組可謂功不可沒。

提供一些關於作者的信息，我也看過這部電影，不是因為男女主角，而是因為聽說是丹麥作家Karen Blixen的作品，因為這部小說，以及她的另外文學作品在美國很流行，所以她也成了丹麥的知名作家。我去過她的故居兩次，坐落在哥本哈根北郊的海邊。很多美國來的遊客都來這個故居參觀。

Glad you like Meryl Streep, one of the few female actors whose performance I am crazy about. To me, she is one of the greatest actors ever, not only for the contemporary era, but at all times. Her name should be listed, neck to neck, with all the other great actors such as Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, etc. In this movie, she make a great match with Robert Redford.

Redford is another film maker who I like very much, but thought his directing career is not as marvelous as his acting, espeically in those of his early movies. I actually watched Horse Whisper, one of his directing pieces, where he in the movie paired up with the Brit actor, Kristin S. Thomas (the one starring The English Patient). It's a good one, but could be better.

As for Out of Africa, I thought this is the best among all the films directed by Sydney Pollack.

Your post refreshed my memory.

I watched this movie a long time ago, when I was still an undergrad. Barely remember the whole story. But I do love Meryl. She is one of the greatest actresses in the States. She is good at play in almost every type of movie, including comedy, horror, drama. To me, she was born to be an actress though she has never been thought pretty or sexy.

Robert Redford is one of the most successful actors. I have seen his movie "The way we were". Horsewhisper was said to be one of his best too. He is also a great director as far as I know.

Should watch again.
