轉眼都2025年了

感謝Gigi，到目前為止我的新年resolution還堅持得不錯。而且，意外的收獲是，每天跟她在wild life reservation trails 走路一小時, 聽完了Amy Tan 的The Backyard Bird Chronicles，Colm Toibin 的Brooklyn 和Long Island， 還有 Doug Most 的 The Race Underground. 才知道，波士頓的地鐵是美國第一家！也才知道，修建紐約第一條地鐵的總工程師，也是修建Cape Cod Canal的總工：

Parsons designed the Cape Cod Canal as Chief Engineer. He was also Chief Engineer of the Board of Rapid Transit Railroad Commissioners and was responsible for the construction of the Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) subway line （first subway of New York City).

雖然Brooklyn 和Long Island 講得是愛爾蘭移民的故事，但作者的刻畫和描述十分細膩真實，把聽上去很日常的故事人情講得引人入勝，不忍掩卷。

這幾本書都很有意思，各有特點。雖然這個月天寒地凍，但有好書聽，讓人開心。
