"The Old Rifle" (2014) is a military drama set in 1941. All episodes take place during this year. Petr is a simple teacher in a small village. He considers himself apolitical and is confident that if you keep a low profile and don't defy the authorities, you'll be left alone. However, soon everything changes. After a fierce battle, the Red Army retreats, and the Germans occupy the village. The occupiers impose a curfew, and residents are ordered to surrender their weapons and ammunition under the threat of execution. Then, a tragedy occurs in Petr's family: his wife was raped by group of German sodiers and burned to death beside Germans killed all villagers. The peaceful math teacher takes up the old rifle hidden from the Germans in his hands...

Съемки ленты проходили в глуши, в настоящей заснеженной деревне под Санкт-Петербургом. Перед художниками картины стояла задача найти такую деревню, в которой не было бы современных электрических столбов, а все «спецэффекты» – взрывы, выстрелы, пожары – можно было бы проводить по-настоящему.

 

Filming of the film took place in the wilderness, in a real snow-covered village near St. Petersburg.
