"Just the idea that it had never been done before..." Well I hate to say this but it HAD been done before. By who? Well you guessed it, the Germans, four years earlier. First in Belgium at the fort of Eban Emal then later on a much larger scale at the Greek isle of Crete.

i had an uncle that was photographer in ww2 and he was with general Kellogg when they found the first camp , he said it smelled like bacon for miles before they found that camp ,,,, it changed the war once this got out to the public

lol American Paratroopers weren't the 'first time' it was being done xD. Only if you see 'first' as the first 4 years it was being done. Germans did it in 1940 to invade Holland.
