DIY - Jogger pants

美女們好：

美女妹妹們你們跑步麽？現在跑步風愈演愈烈，我周圍的朋友都在跑，最近認識一個朋友說，他們的微信群上百人，進入微信群隻有一個標準–跑過半馬。住在高冷的博士屯，所有的酷美女每天不是在跑步，就是在邊聽npr遍跑步，跑完再去whole food吃個Quinoa and kale沙拉。

最好姐現年膝蓋不好，幾年都不跑了。最好姐曾經的名言是，除非逃命絕不跑步。不跑歸不跑，最好姐也一心想酷一酷，所以一直喜歡穿些色彩鮮豔的運動服，假裝去跑步。

言歸正傳上周去逛布店毅力不堅定，又請回來6塊新布。剁手之餘把家裏的布過了一下，實在太多庫存了。 下決心趕緊努力消耗些。所以周末選了去年請的一塊花silk knit, 做一件跑步褲。

pattern用的是這個simplicity 8268. 做了小號。

The pattern is Simplicity 8268. By measurement I am between S and M. I made Small based on my fabric is stretchy. It turned out to be the right decision.  Waist casing from the pattern is tiny big. After I added waist elastic band it turned out perfect. I used my serger for most of the work, and then cover stitch to double stitch the seams for a nice and clean finish.

Hi, my beautiful lovelies:

First of all, I am not a jogger (blush blush). I have barely ran for the past few years. I have famously claimed that I don’t run unless to survival,  in the rare case that I have to outrun others in order not to be eaten by a bear.

I am also in love of jogger pants’ casual and loose style. When I am home or running errands, I’d love to wear something soft, light and a little slouchy. Besides, I always love to pretend I run because to be a real cool Bostonian, you will have to run a half marathon very other week while listening to NPR, then afterward eat a Quinoa and kale salad. I’d like to look like a real cool Bostonian from time to time.

I took out the silk knits fabric from my stash. I got it from my local fabric store last year. The fabric is very thin and soft. I hesitated for a moment whether it is appropriate to use such luxury and  soft fabric for sportswear purpose. Oh hell I want to wear a pair of soft and slouchy pants when I lounge at my living room. I will make it because I can. That sealed the deal. I bought the ribbing fabric from Joann’s last week just to make the joggers pants.
