這個課因為要分組練習有幾個老師來教。有一個老師看著像個粗人平時總是板著臉不照人喜歡。昨天結束的時候對全班說了些話。。

At yesterday's class I overheard some students were talking about worried about the state exams, saying they were not confident...I want to say a few words about the importance of confidence..

You guys look at me (he is not tall, shorter than me but very stocky). I am not a big guy. I have been deputy sheriff for 32 years. Believe me how many time I have to fight a guy much bigger than me. Guess how many time I lost... None..

You wonder how I could have done that. Simple. You got to be confident about yourself, look into that guy's eyes and say I am going to win...

Here we train all kinds of emergency respondents, policemen, fight fighters, EMTs,... What happens when a policeman loses confidence and fails?

STUDENT A: he dies..

What happens when a fire fighter loses confidence and fails?

STUDENT B: he dies..

What happens when an EMT loses confidence and fails?

STUDENT C:...the patient dies..

Right. As first responders we have a huge responsibility on ourselves, our own lives, other people's lives. We can not afford not to have 100% confidence on ourselves.  So you have to study hard, make sure you learn all the stuff. It's not about the state exam, it's about what happens after that...
