Science fiction is a wonderful form of literary expression that usually entails fantastical and imaginative details and scientific principles, some of which may not exist in the present time or ever. In the modern day, many popular science fiction novels have been adapted into excellent cinematic productions that have garnered much critical acclaim and popular demand. Additionally, many original films have been made in the field of science fiction, including some of the most innovative works of our time.

In the beginning, before the advent of modern technology such as the television and the movie theater, science fiction was written upon paper. These fantastic novels broke new ground in the realm of the printed word and rapidly became popular amongst readers, eventually aging enough to develop into timeless classics. Indeed, the science fiction novel was perhaps the most wonderful and impressive product of advanced printing. Generations of people wealthy enough to purchase bound paper and ink have been able to enjoy the splendor of the mysterious, unpredictable, suspenseful, unbelievably joyous world of science fiction.

But what is it about the ridiculously good genre of science fiction that enthralls fans most? Is it the euphoria of being able to transcend scientific principles and enter the realm of the unknown and the possible? Is it the heart-warming spectacle of imagining things that could not have previously been conceived of, like edible, non-medicine-like medicine? Is it the wide freedom of the human mind, generating what the human hand could only wish to hold, like more durable automobiles? Science fiction\'s appeal surely stems from more than one of the above reasons.

As the advent of film came about, the wonder of science fiction only increased, since special effects could generate on a screen what the words of science fiction novels envisioned. Science fiction films have contributed so much to society and have helped make America great. Finally, the citizenry could physically see what a good-tasting medicine would look like. Finally, the citizenry could behold the great sight of more durable automobiles!

Only time will tell how science fiction will become even more good and great. From film science fiction could expand to new media that doesn\'t exist in the present time. Modern society owes science fiction a debt of gratitude, for it is science fiction that has entertained it and encouraged it toward higher heights never before witnessed.
