《辭海》對“國家”一詞的解釋是：



1.古代諸侯稱國，大夫稱家；

2.指皇帝；

3.是階級統治的機關。



《辭海》的解釋告訴我們：第一，“國家”在古代純粹是一個政治概念；

第二，“國家”的政治概念隨時代的變化而變化。



《現代漢語詞典》對“國家”一詞的解釋是：



1.階級統治的工具；

2.指一個國家的整個區域。



《現漢》的解釋告訴我們，在現代漢語中，“國家”一詞已經有了兩個概念，



一個是政治概念，

一個是地域概念。



作為政治概念使用的“國家”專指“三部分”之一的政權，

作為地域概念使用的“國家”專指“三部分”之一的地域。



舉例說吧。“我國是一個人均資源占有量很少的國家”，——這句話裏的“國家”指的就是地域，
