The biggest problem for English language learners, is talking on the telephone. Without visual clues from gestures and body language, English is difficult to understand on the telephone – even for native English speakers. Here is a useful ESL telephone tool.

When native speakers need to be clear when giving information over the telephone, they use small words to represent letters for important information for example the correct spelling of their name or address.

Mr. Singh would be "Summer, Ice-cream, Number, Goat, House"

It sounds silly but that is what native speakers do. Use this list of simple words to spell information on the phone.
