Around the Clock

The pace is occasionally ramped up
as if I was pushing the seconds hand
around the clock
Yet happiness is also ramped up
as if walked into timeless direction of tranquility
over the clock face
Minutes hand is used to gauge games played
lines written or songs played
Hours hand is used to sneak under the night
quietly thinking or not thinking
watching TV in mute or with wireless headphone
Everything paces itself somewhat
and we just need to follow
or sometimes live outside our shadows
for moments of our own
reflect meaning or meaningless seconds
minutes and hours
around the clock
