It's no doubt that credits cards make our life more convenient. But as coin has two sides, credit cards sometimes can be also a pain in the neck.
First, we always receive so many junk mail marketing their new cards - American Blue, this bank, that bank.....I don't know how much time I have spent destroying those mails. Watch out! Do not just toss them away. Many of those mails contain your personal information.
Second, you are tempted to get new cards when you shop because they offer extra discount. For instance, victoria secret angel card, Express credit card, Banana Republic card, amazon credit card, sears card, macy card, and to name just a few. What's the result? Your purse is getting thicker and thicker but you are busier and busier to keep track those bills and pay them off.
Third, you are pressured to catch up with all the payment deadlines when you have too many of them. Find a way to stay on top of those bill payment! Otherwide, late fees would cost you a fortune :(.
The last but not the least, some nonsense charges on your card make your life miserable. You have to keep on eye on all transactions in case something is going wrong. When you find one suspicious, you have to kill quite a few of your brain cells, trying to recall what's it about. When you make sure that you never spent such money, you have to dial the 800 number, endure the long waiting time, control your temper when your call is transfered from one associate to another, and keep patience in fulfilling all required procedures. PHEW! You'd better to get prepared. Here is a trick: if you want to get directly to customer service, dial "0" immediately. You don't need to waste your time to go through the whole automatic message system.
Someone would say: the solution to this mess is simplicity - only have one credit card. No, no, no! If you did so, your credit score wouldn't look satisfactory.
Many things in our life are not curable but manageable. The only way out is to minimize the pain but the pain is always there. Remember? Everything has two sides.
