幽靈在空中徘徊
Sky's Specters: Seven Birds Circling

Yes, it's true; bodies are laid out for birds of prey in India, primarily by the
Parsi (Zoroastrian) community in Mumbai's
Towers of Silence (Dakhmas) and by Tibetan Buddhists in Himalayan regions, in a practice called
Sky Burial (Jhator ) , where vultures and other scavengers consume the flesh, returning the body to nature.
Parsi Tradition (Dakhma /Tower of Silence) Where: Mumbai, India (Malabar Hill ). What: A circular, roofless stone tower where bodies are placed in concentric circles (men, women, children) to be eaten by vultures, kites, and crows. Why: Zoroastrian faith avoids polluting earth (burial) or fire (cremation), seeing the sun and birds as sacred. Current Status: Facing challenges due to declining vulture populations. Where: Tibetan plateau, parts of India (Sikkim, Zanskar), Nepal, Mongolia. What: Deceased bodies are taken to high, isolated mountains (charnel grounds ) and left for vultures and other animals to consume. Why: Belief that the body is a vessel, and feeding it to birds (called Dakinis or sky angels) helps the soul's journey and offers compassion. Ritual: Bones are often broken and mixed with butter to feed birds too, leaving nothing behind. Both traditions see this as a way to return the body's essence to the universe, with vultures acting as sacred agents of transformation.
Hawks or vultures, there might be at least 7 of them above in the sky.
