When we think of great communicators, we often identify well-known individuals in business or public life. These individuals are often charismatic and are able to influence others through their oratorical skills. Being a persuasive public speaker is certainly one aspect of being a great communicator, however, there are four qualities that everyone can develop to improve their communication skills: Respect: Great communicators respect other people's points of view and find value in what they have to say. Sincerity: Believe in what you are saying and propose ideas that are for the benefit of others, as well as yourself. Honesty: Be open in your communication style and truthful in everything you say. Empathy: Understand and acknowledge how others feel and react to what you say.
