The importance of having a supportive partner

Looking back, when I decided to marry him, it didn't even occur to me whether he's a supportive person. Why should I care? I can support myself.

All I thought about was whether he's a nice guy, does he love me, and do I love him. That's it. I never realised how lucky I was to run into and marry a guy who's considerate and supportive.

And then I'm married. Things became different from that point. I don't think about "me" as much as before. It's "we" most of the time. Do we like that car? Do we like that property? Can we accept working long hours all the time? Do we want to take holiday...

We're a couple, but at the same time we are two totally different individuals. There're conflicts every step along our way, and only understanding and support can pull us together as one.

And as the life goes on, I realised some burdens are too much for one person.

Thinking back, I have to admit I'm very lucky
