《加州旅館》，撒旦之歌

《加州旅館》問世三十多年來，以其怪異的曲風，詭異晦澀的歌詞，經典的吉他旋律，感人心弦的悲世情懷而經久不衰。人們曾試圖尋找加州旅館的原形，可是終究沒有結果。老鷹樂隊更是對此不置可否。好像應了那句“此曲隻應天上有”，隻不過《加州旅館》不是來自天堂的聲音，而更像是魔鬼撒旦的符咒。
在我看來，當然沒有加州旅館這個地方，Hotel California 不過是海洛因和可卡因的另類表達，如果這個假設成立，那些晦澀的歌詞，詭異的場麵就好理解了。歌詞在一開始colitas的暗示，迷失的靈魂需要個地方安放。借酒消愁已經過時，We haven't had that spirit here since 1969；而此時魔鬼撒旦發出了第一個符咒：歡迎來到加州旅館（Welcome to the hotel california）。而且是一年四季，供應充足；歌詞的中段主要是描述吸毒之後的一些感受。比如，Such a lovely Place，Such a lovely face的美妙幻象，這時，魔鬼告訴你靈魂不過是軀體的囚徒，We are all just prisoners here, of our own device。歌詞 的最後實際上是暗示一旦進入了 Hotel California，（粘上了毒癮）就很難回去了（戒不掉了），任憑你拚命地想找尋來時的路, 你仍然無法殺死你心中的魔獸, You can check out any time you like,But you can never leave。這當然是魔鬼的又一次符咒。
