不來梅的城市樂手

德國童話。格林兄弟於1857年將其記錄並收入《格林童話》。

《不來梅的城市樂手》講述的是四個動物的故事，它們是一隻雞、一隻貓、一條狗和一頭驢。因為它們年紀太大了，它們的主人要將它們宰殺，它們成功地逃了出來後意外地碰在了一起。根據驢的提議，它們決定一起去不來梅做城市樂手。

在去不來梅的路上，它們發現一間森林小屋，四個強盜正在享受他們的不義之財。四個動物一個站在一個的背上，它們決定演奏音樂乞求換來一頓飽餐。可是，它們的“音樂”得到了意料之外的效果，強盜們不知道這奇怪的聲音是什麽，撒腿逃命去了。動物們進屋美餐了一頓，並決定在屋裏過夜。

當天晚上，強盜回到小屋並派其中的一個進屋檢查。屋子裏一片漆黑，強盜看到了貓的眼睛在黑暗中發亮，他以為那是火炭，湊上前去想要借此點亮手中的蠟燭。這時候，貓用爪子猛打強盜的臉龐，接著驢用腿踢他，狗咬他，最後雞大聲鳴叫著將強盜趕出了屋門。

逃出來的強盜告訴他的同夥，他被一群怪物圍攻，有一個巫婆用指甲抓他，有一個巨人用棍子打他，有一個老虎用牙齒咬他，而最可怕的是有一個魔鬼對著他耳朵尖叫。強盜們放棄了小屋再也沒有回來，而動物們則在那裏愉快地生活了下去。

在不來梅市政廳的左側，擺放著一尊2米高的銅製雕塑，講述著這個童話故事，雕塑從上至下分別是主人公雞、貓、狗和驢，這是德國雕刻家格哈德·馬爾克斯（Gerhard Marcks）1951年的作品。

許多人相信，如果抱住驢的前腿並且許願，願望將會得到實現。雕塑的這個位置因此而被遊客摸得發亮。不來梅的城市樂手雕塑是不來梅的標誌。

Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten

Das Märchen Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten erzählt von vier Tieren (Hahn, Katze, Hund und Esel), die ihren Besitzern infolge ihres Alters nicht mehr nützlich sind, und daher getötet werden sollen. Es gelingt den Tieren zu entkommen, worauf sie sich zufällig treffen. Alle folgen dem Vorschlag des Esels, in Bremen Stadtmusikanten zu werden und brechen nach Bremen auf. Da sie die Stadt nicht an einem Tag erreichen, müssen sie im Wald übernachten. Sie entdecken dort ein Räuberhaus. Sie erschrecken die Räuber, vertreiben sie mit lautem Geschrei und übernehmen das Haus als Nachtlager. Ein Räuber, der später in der Nacht erkundet, ob das Haus wieder betreten werden kann, wird von den Tieren nochmals und damit endgültig verjagt. Den Bremer Stadtmusikanten gefällt das Haus so gut, dass sie nicht wieder hinaus wollen und dort bleiben.

Town Musicians of Bremen

The Bremen Town Musicians (German Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten, also translated as The Musicians of Bremen) is a fairy tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. Despite the title of the fairy tale the animals never actually arrive in Bremen.

In the story a Donkey, a Dog, a Cat, and a Rooster, all mistreated by their masters, leave them and meet in a desolate place. They decide to go to Bremen, known for its freedom, to live without owners.

On the way to Bremen, they see a lighted cottage; they look inside and see four robbers enjoying their ill-gotten gains. Standing on each other's backs, they decide to perform for the men in hopes of gaining food. Their 'music' has an unanticipated effect; the men run for their lives, not knowing what the strange sound is. The animals take possession of the house, eat a good meal, and settle in for the evening.

Later that night, the robbers return and send one of their number in to investigate. It is dark, and he sees the eyes of the Cat shining in the darkness. He reaches over to light his candle, thinking he sees the coals of the fire. Things happen in quick succession; the Cat swipes his face with her claws, the Donkey picks up his hooves and kicks him, the Dog bites him on the leg, and the Rooster crows and chases him out the door, screaming. He tells his companions that he was beset by a horrible witch who scratched him with her long fingers( the Cat), a man with a knife (The dog), a monster who had hit him with a club (the Donkey), and worst of all, the devil who screamed from the rooftop (the Rooster). The robbers abandon the cottage to the strange creatures who have taken it, where the animals live happily for the rest of their days.
