凱莉·安德伍德
作為美國第一個從鄉村走出來的“美國偶像”，凱莉·安德伍德出生在小鎮Checotah，三歲時就開始在當地的教堂唱詩班中唱歌。整個童年時期，她還在Lion和Old Settlers Day等俱樂部中助唱表演，稍大之後就已在節日期間到其他各州巡回表演了。隨著演唱技藝的逐漸精湛，凱莉·安德伍德逐漸學會了演奏吉他和鋼琴。在她以優異的成績高中畢業之後，進入了東北大學主修大眾傳媒專業希望以後能夠從事廣播新聞工作。安德伍德在課餘時間還是繼續兼職唱歌表演。
2005年也就是她馬上大學畢業的時候，安德伍德參加了“美國偶像”比賽的階段賽，在聖路易斯的比賽中她以完美迷人的嗓音從12名參賽選手中脫穎而出獲得2005“美國偶像”的稱號。
安德伍德的第一支單曲“Inside Your Heaven”在同年夏天發行，與此同時她也頻頻亮相在美國偶像節目現場。安德伍德開始在納什維爾錄製自己的第一張專輯Some Hearts，該專輯在同年秋天晚些時候正式發行並且很受歡迎，第一個星期就賣出了30萬張，最後獲得了超出白金唱片三倍的總銷量，其中，專輯主打歌"Jesus, Take the Wheel"取得了巨大成功，連續六周蟬聯告示牌鄉村單曲榜冠軍。
