If I could turn back time
If I could turn back time, I would impart a crucial lesson to my younger self: the importance of awakening to the present.
In certain phases of my youth, life seemed like a dream. I don't mean living in a fantasy world; rather, it felt as though I were physically present, yet my mind remained disengaged. I could hear, but I wasn't truly listening. I participated, but my thoughts stayed unexpressed. I see things but didn’t see through things. I notice the time when it already passed. I didn’t have plan or goals. I was merely drifting through life, navigating its currents without fully embracing them, although I managed to stay afloat most of the time.
If I could revisit those days, I would urgently implore my younger self, "Awaken, be fully present!" I would relish and cherish the moments of joy, acknowledging their transient nature and their potential to craft cherished memories.
Regarding the challenging moments, I would encourage myself to take action when possible or to find acceptance. Like everything else, those difficult times would eventually pass. By recognizing life's ever-shifting nature, I would endeavor to release attachments and embrace the impermanence inherent in all things.
With an awareness of the transitory nature of each moment, I would come to understand that change is an unwavering companion on life's journey. By embracing this truth, I could navigate the peaks and valleys with greater equanimity and ease.
