A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

"She Passed Away”

My mother passed away on Monday afternoon at 1:30PM in Guangzhou time (when it was 12:30AM Monday, 9-28-09 in locat time). I learned it at 10:30AM on Monday after my 8AM class. I took 2 days off and spent Tuesday fasting and meditating, wishing her a smooth journey to join my father who passed away 3 years ago, and wishing for her to forgive me as I could not say goodbye to her and see her off.

She passed away with my two sisters by her side in the hospital, peacefully.

I grew up with her love. How I wish I could have held her hands in my own and let her know that I love her...

One thing to keep in mind is that she had good years of living with the children she loved, and I am sure she knew she was loved by her children.

The loss of a parent is so hard, and I think losing your mother -- if you are a daughter -- is a particular kind of agony that can only be fully understood by those of us who have lost our mothers.
