Minnie Riperton雖然沒有美麗的外表，但是她的聲音卻是獨一無二的。

《Loving you》由Minnie Riperton（蜜妮萊普頓）和丈夫共同譜寫，本歌於1975年一月首度進榜，十一個星期後，就在四月五日奪得了全美的冠軍，也讓全球歌迷注意到了這個驚人的美聲。隻可惜，才剛剛開始成名，她就在1976年發現自己患了乳癌。1979年Minnie Riperton病逝於洛杉磯，享年方31歲。有著足足五個八度音階的寬廣音域，堪稱有史以來天賦最佳的女歌手之一，可惜在歌壇卻隻能曇花一現。《Loving you》成為她留給世人的絕響。
