Ken Bradshaw Internet service is as good as its speed. AT&T has the slowest internet of any provider. I don't understand why all you people signed with AT&T and DirecTV. Read these sites on social media. No accolades, just complaints. Kick AT&T to the curb. Go with any other provider. At least you will get some speed with another provider. You won't get any customer service from AT&T. Other providers are not four star with their customer service, but it will be better than what you get from AT&T.
Bobby McBee I was wrong in my last post. There are some things ATT is good at. Delays in correcting problems, not returning promised calls, outright lies about when service would be completed, leaving jobs half-done, ignoring requests for service, and the list goes on and on. If you want a real headache, go ahead and sign up with them. You'll be sorry if anything ever goes wrong and you want it corrected. I've been trying for six weeks to get an above-ground cable buried and all I get is delays and more promises.
Antwon Hurt Avoid at&t at all cost. When you call in speak to someone for business 9/10 out of ten it's a vendor or someone outside of the United States.

Chris Holmes I’ll tell you all, another thing that this ATT rep won’t tell you. Never, ever, ever call Customer service at ATT. And who gave me this sage advice? Not one but TWO ATT stores in the Austin and Houston. They both told me they have had great difficulty trying to fix problems created by their CS dept. I know as I was one of them. That’s one more reason why I dropped ATT wireless and went with another carrier.

We only see replies from A T & T and they all seem to assess customer's troubles. It feels like either A T & T is really changing and wants people to be satisfied or they do not want other customers or potential customers to see the trouble they (may)endure!
I am one of their customers... one of their NOT happy customers, one of their customer that had to go UP in the hierarchy to have the problem SOLVED, although the first technician that came out told us what the problem was and resolved it by a temporary cable, that was removed by the crew that was supposed to burry the cable, because that was too much trouble as we live far from the road and in the woods. Back to square one. Two technicians' visits later, we were again told them problem was the underground cable and we would get a new one within 3 weeks. That is when we climbed up the hierarchy and got a new temporary cable the same day (which solved the problem) and this time the crew did burry a new cable. It took 3 months from start to finish, it could have been done in 2 days!
We did not get any compensation for this horrific customer service.
and the Internet speed is degrading well SPEED is a big word, they should say the SLOWNESS of their Internet

Every company you acquire the service goes downhill, the prices go up and the foreign customer service is the most irritating.

Then on the weekends when everyone is home trying to use the internet it drops connection every 15 mins because the old bell south equipment isn't rated for the traffic and att refuses to do anything about it. Khris Basinger I only get 5mps at best. Normally only 1.6mbs. every time I call they say 2 weeks until the faster internet is ready. It has been 3 months and still nothing. Go to cancel to go to a better provider and I'm told I have to pay $800.

Jayson King I've got the 1 gig plan not worth it. Problems since day one cutting in and out. Most devices can't go past 300mp which if fine as long as we have band width but we don't so we get buffering. I've had multiple techs out here. The last time I complained I was told I'd get a $25 credit and never got it. I was told they can't do more because I never reported it....what a joke. I was also told my gateway needs replaced but when the techs come they say they can't their manager won't let them. I never thought I would miss time Warner Cable but some how I do.

Joe Garren II Live in Pickens, SC, a small town. I live in City limits and the best speed I can get is 18 MBps. Yeta friend of mine who lives 20 miles out in the country gets a faster speed of 24 MBps. I've been told year after year, "oh, next year you're area is getting a speed up grade".
Todd Young Great service but call centers suck. Even though they speak English, their accents are so heavy it makes it very hard to understand. Before ATT bought DirectV, all of DirectVs call centers were in the states. Not now, ATT chose the cheapest way possible.

Scotty Anderson I use AT&T for wireless, and it’s good. But I wouldn’t even consider using them for home internet/directv. Too many stimulations, data caps etc. Besides, they cannot compete with Spectrums 400 Mbps in my area.
I live in reality where cheaper doesn’t equate to better. I don’t mind paying more for a quality service. Not to say I haven’t had issues with Spectrum in the past, I’ve had my fair share. Now when AT&T decides to get faster speeds in my city, remove their data caps....I may reconsider
Tracy Lambert I have the direct tv now they automatically take out of my bank account 40.00 a month. App on my phone I stream it to my tv and it lags bad. Pauses skips etc. It's junk . My bf watches a few channels I don't watch any. Don't have cable. Oh and the internet with AT&T sucks. I upgraded cost 65.00 a month. Thinking of going back to spectrum. Just to busy and work odd shifts and hardly get to watch tv and tierd of the complaints from people trying to watch something. Very frustrating paying that much. 100.00 total each month for junk. Wasting money i really don't have and I don't watch enough tv to even pay that kind of money. Paul Pruitt II I had Directv for 20 years. Bought the NFL Sunday Ticket every year. When AT&T bought it I knew it was going to go downhill. I asked for a reduced rate. You refused. I was paying $140 a month. No extra movie channels. My girl friend had it only 1 year and they reduced her rate to $50 a month. How does that happen? Did away with Directv and haven't looked back.

Also Trump gave you guys a huge tax break/incentive so why don’t you start by bringing your customer care back to the USA and employing some Americans and let the hobbeeebs find work elsewhere. Prince Shawn Well we ordered this service ask for static IP and it's been 2 months and they still ain't got the connection working and we've been paying the bill so I'm probably going to end up canceling it if they can't make it work I can never get nobody on the phone or any support the guy that came over to set it up is try himself came over on his day off and everything trying to help and it just won't work I think they brought us the wrong equipment Charter knows what they're doing so we're going back to them

My network service is faster than this crap. They even installed a brand new line so it's unacceptable. Definitely going to be cancelling before the 30 days is up because it's not worth the money. I've never seen my network service buffer this much in a year as I have seen with this service in less than 5 days. Absolutely disgusting.

Asa Davidson No thanks. I had talked to a representative with ATT who said "oh yeah we have no paperwork showing you agreed to this, we'll take care of it" and told me to wait a few days for info to come in email.
Didn't hear anything. Then the following Monday I start getting collections calls for $2400 instead! (the length of the 3yr contract cost) I went ahead and paid my last month and told them to notate that's ALL I would be paying (which they did), and washed my hands of it. Didn't hear anything for a couple of months, and then a different collections agency started calling. To which I filed a complaint and asked for proof of debt and they eventually closed it.... Pathetic excuse for customer service, you'll never make up for that especially since it did impact my credit.

John Lawton You get 7 mbs from AT&T? Ours is more like 3 mb down and 750 kb up. In other words, barely better than dialup. If the Governor would get out of the way we could have 100 mb service by the end of summer. Most of the fiber backbone was laid down 20+ years ago.
John Lawton AT&T Business Good morning Lisa. Get started what? 30+ year telecom engineer here. The best AT&T has to offer in this area is 2 wire ADSL at the speeds I mentioned above and that's the best we get. At peak traffic periods it's much worse. Sometimes when your system is really loaded up it's virtually unusable. The sad part? There's a 100 fiber bundle less than 1 mile from my farm and AT&T owns it. It was installed in the late 90's and been sitting idle for over 20 years. Charter is extending 100 mb service to our area now. I see their trucks and guys working in this area every day. Unless AT&T is prepared to match Charter service they're going to lose a lot of subscribers in this area very soon. In fact, it's probably already happening.

I've already spoken with local representatives about the speeds quoted versus the actual speeds we see numerous times. I'm told it's a system limitation due to dated infrastructure. I just ran a speed test. The results are as follows: 1.65 mb down, .24 mb up. This shows the same at the demark. So, it's not my wiring. This is very typical for this time of day.

John Lawton AT&T Business Thank you Lisa. I know it's not your fault. However, AT&T has been aware of these issues for at least 5 years. No perceivable effort has been made by AT&T to correct the problems as far as I can tell. I suppose the engineering staff thinks upgrades aren't necessary since AT&T has had a captive audience in this area for so long. Now that Governor Haslam has finally approved extending high speed internet service into this area with multiple carriers, including Charter Cable, Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative and EPB, I would imagine we'll have our choice of 100 mb carriers very soon. Surely AT&T's management is aware what this will do to your subscriber base?

Branden Catoe To be fair the customer service representatives can only answer so many comments at a time. Due to the influx from all of these they are doing this to save time and offer a window for people to file their complaints via pm's. The customer service rep can't solve your problems they are only middle men who can relay you to the appropriate team.
They aren't the gears of the company they are the face. Considering the sheer size of at&t's customer base they are definitely swamped with people not only complaining but asking genuine questions. They are underpaid and they are over stressed. I don't have the best service with them but I appreciate anyone in the IT field because they put up with the people who have no regard for the people thats attempting to help them. Being impatient and rude to these people doesn't encourage them to address you personally or promptly when all you can offer is quips and rudeness. You'd be surpised how willing they are to help if you'd stop for 2 minutes and ask them how their day and apply human decency when speaking to them.
They aren't the root of your problem as much as they are a tool to fix it. Let them do their job and just take two steps back to assess your situation and what you can contribute. If you still aren't satisfied with the results find another provider. Be adults.
Tod Wilkens Is this the only answer you can give people. I would bet from the looks of it you just copy and paste a few phrases on your computer. It shows the help you will give people. Look at your computer and when they ask you can match the answer with the answers they are asking. Copy paste real professional. WOW

Chuck Grimsley Constant problem with AT&T. I signed up for their high speed internet 45 mbps . I had the 15mbps was getting 12-to 17 mbps . When I got the high speed internet it never changed and the sent a very nice tech over to fix it and it got to just over 30 mbps . 2days later back down to 12 to 17 mbps . It never got higher and the last straw is the very rude customer service so I finally moved on . Why stay with a company that NEVER DELIVERS ON THEIR END and treats you like trash .
