Perspective

A good one from my friend ......Thought I would share it with you all.

One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered. "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we really are."

Isn't perspective an interesting thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

非凡的觀察力

 

一天, 一位非常有錢的父親帶著兒子到鄉村旅行。他想讓兒子看看鄉村裏的窮人是怎麽生活的。他們在窮人家待了二三天。

 

回來的路上爸爸問兒子“你覺得這次旅行怎麽樣？”

 

“非常好！爸爸。”

 

“你看到了窮人是怎麽生活的吧？”父親問道。

 

“嗯，是的！”兒子回答

 

“那麽告訴我，這次旅行你學到了什麽？”父親問。

 

兒子答道“我看到我家有一條狗，他們有四條。我們家的遊泳池一直到花園的當中，而他們的小溪卻看不到盡頭。我們家花園裏掛著進口的燈籠，而他們家院子裏晚上有著滿天的星星。我們的天井一直到前院，而他們有整個地平線。我們住在一小塊地上，而他們的田野一望無際。我們有傭人伺候，而他們為他人服務。我們的食物是買的，而他們的食物是自己種的。我們用圍牆保護自己，而他們有朋友保護。”

男孩的父親聽了兒子的回答啞口無言。兒子又補充道“謝謝你，爸爸，讓我看到我們是多麽的貧窮。”
