Yes 海鷗, leading follow is authentic, and is the best way to achieve harmony. I'm not very comfortable yet, though getting better comparing to the first competition.
For Standard dancing, strong center is very important, and with hip area as flexible as latin dancers. Lots to work on.
Hope you still have chance to do something, even by yourself. I practice by myself as well, also take ballet lessons. I feel body conditioning is even more important than ballroom techniques, more so in higher level.
原來你們是做沒有 routine 的 lead and follow。這可是真的不容易，尤其是在 open level 上。估計那就是我說的那幾點的主要原因了。
記得以前我們老頭（team 裏的總教練）老是不肯給我 routines (for Standard)，要我一個 group 接一個 group 地 lead。 還真是挺折磨人的。有一次比賽後我們問一位德國來的裁判，他指出我的首要問題就是軀幹的運動量不足，跳得太平。所以我後來一直很留意這個問題。
真羨慕你有 amateur partner。希望什麽時候看到你們做 amateur 的比賽。

This is Pro/Am Open Scholarship A competition. My pro partner is Linas Koreiva, BlackPool professional semi-finalist, of cause a "好同學" :-) He is quite conservative regarding to dancing, but stresses basic foundation very much. We ware doing true leading-follow on competition floor, no routine, which may be why he was conservative, so to make sure I can follow. This could also be a reason for lacking of emotion.
I'm still practicing with my amateure parter, but not scheduled for competition yet.

Hi Melly, thanks for nice comments. Yes, I've improved with the efforts I've put in. We placed 7th, one off final. It's quite competitive in this highest division of Pro/Am. There are one couple from Hong Kong (a regular finalist in International events), two couples from Canada (include one previous Canadian Pro/Am champion), one couple from Australia (they are professional actually), none of them made to the final.
You are amazing, your shape, dress and performance. So is your partner :-) Practice makes perfect, obviously. Very beautiful and enjoyable. I wish I could have been watching your dance on site.
I bet you enjoyed the entire event too. What's the result?

隨便說說我的感覺吧。說不對的請多原諒。
你們是在跳 amateur 的吧？ 首先祝賀你找到一位好 partner。這位 partner 看來是個乖寶寶 -- 基本功紮實、相當有潛力的好學生。他的身材很好，跟你也很配。
總體的感覺是： 跳的中規中矩 -- 動作基本正確、該做的大都做了。同時，動作飄然，能做的那種 effortless 的效果，尤其是在做 pivots 時，轉得很輕鬆漂亮。
不足之處： 跳得比較拘謹，有點放不開的感覺，也缺乏點激情，同時也缺乏點笑容。
在做 promenade position 時有前麵的的高度（手、肩和視線的高度）不夠高（QS 時有幾次還好），有幾次手臂（他的左臂和你的右臂）還 drop 了一點。
Gentleman 身體的動作量不夠。一方麵他需要用身體來做主要的 leading，軀體的動作太平的話可能會有 leading 方麵的問題；另一方麵，身體動作量不夠的話給人的感覺就是放不開和平淡，同時整個舞蹈缺乏點 volume。
Lady 的背部還可以再挺直一點。這個要在還沒有開始單獨站立時就要做到，否則會很明顯地看出來。 另外，頭部在從一邊轉到另一邊時可以略慢一點，劃一個更大的弧線，效果會更好。 最後，smile。 ：）
Waltz:
- 幾個連續轉、running through 和 pivots 都做的不錯，挺 smooth 的。
- 可以在“2”的高峰處略為留長一點時間（當然是一邊慢慢轉動上身）。
- 做 picture line figures 時可以再伸展多一點，把空間占滿。
- 可以多一點感情，表現浪漫一點。
Tango：
- 開首第一條 charge line 做的不錯，尤其是在結尾時男士邊轉邊滑動，還能保持身體的平衡和穩定，很棒。
- 比較 smooth，有點不夠 staccato 的感覺（我在這方麵更差，被人說過好幾次了）。
- 有幾個 link 做的好像有點不對，有點 artificial 的感覺，覺得那不是用身體的轉動帶動的，而是用手臂帶動的。
V Waltz:
- 大體上 smooth。尤其是 reverse turn 不錯。
- 可以做大一點 volume （老實說，我也不知道具體該怎麽做 ；）。
- Natural turn 的“2”略短了一點點，給人一種有點點 jerky 的感覺。如果能夠在頂峰處略為延長一丁點，就可以 smooth it out。
Fox Trot:
- 相當 smooth。這點在這個舞裏是非常重要的。
- 可以給多一點 momentum， 有些地方可以再 lower 略多一點讓步子大一些。
- 表現多一點感情（比如，長步中的飄逸、碎短步的機靈和俏皮，等等）。
Quick Step：
- 比較 smooth 和順暢。
- 有幾處的 scatter chase 和 pivots 做的挺好的.
- 缺乏一點激情和 beaming 的感覺。
- 缺乏一點靈動感（一方麵是動作本身的，另一方麵是編舞的 -- 可以在某些地方編入一些快速轉變方向和 rhythm 的 figures，如在長途奔襲後突然來個 tipsy 之類的東西，讓人有耳目一新的感覺。）
不過，別看我挑了這麽多的毛病，整體上來說這位 partner 還是很不錯的好同學。 希望你們能夠好好練習，在舞藝上不斷精進。我是一邊看一邊羨慕得要死，感歎自己沒有機會。 :"(
