世界為之瘋狂的蘇珊·波伊爾(Susan Boyle)在4月11日電視節目《英國達人》(Britain’s Got Talent)中一唱驚人後，大家都在傳看她初賽演唱視頻，其實，她還有一首好聽的歌，叫做“Cry Me A River”（淚流成河）,這是她在十年前錄製的一張唱牒裏的歌曲，當時作為蘇格蘭西部小鎮（Whitburn Community Council in West Lothian ）為新世紀籌款（charity CD）專門錄製的唱片，隻錄製了一千份。蘇珊當時才３７歲。那時候，蘇珊的聲音比現在更好，更純淨。

這是一首美國作曲家Arthur Hamilton息寫於１９５３年的藍調爵士樂謠唱曲（A jazzy blue's ballad）。本來是為一部二十年代的電影寫的插曲，因為當時觀眾不能接受一個黑人女人的演唱，這首歌曲就沒有在電影中出現。直到１９５５年由女演員／女歌手朱麗·倫敦(Julie London)歌集中才正式傳播出來。
