The Way to Be Holy is the Way of Cross

Why do we need to talk about the growth of the spiritual life and making efforts to be holy?

The conversion is only the start of the salvation. Salvation is a process of becoming who we really should be in God's mind. It begins at conversion and continues until we are fully transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. As a Christian, one needs to carry the cross to follow LORD, be holy, and be one in the life of Jesus Christ. When others see the life of Jesus Christ from you, that is complete.

1. Heaven is the promise land for our Christians.

How many Christians are there, without change in life after they become the Christians? Still live without any difference from before? The blood of the lamb saved all the Israelites, but how many did enter the land of Canaan? In the like manner, how many Christians can enter the heaven? How could those lives that have no much difference from their lives before believing LORD enter the heaven? The devil let the Christians misunderstand that they can continue in living in sins, can enter the heaven without making change, and do not need to grow up spiritually. There will be many people who believe surely that they will enter the heaven, but fall into the abyss instead.

How many people after became the Christians still live in accordance with the sinful nature?

How many people after became the Christians do not believe in the miracles in the Bible? Righteousness through faith is the absolute truth. However, as to those who said that the “five loaves and two fish” was because people became selfless and took out more loaves and fish, and who interpreted the miracles as the parables, can they be counted as the believers?

How many people are like “the church members of Laodicea” , who will be spit out by LORD (Rev 3:16)! I was originally one of the “church member in Laodicea” . But thanks be to God! The Holy Spirit saved me; and also guild me to write down these messages. I am called to shout aloud to the Christians that they still live in accordance with their sinful nature; if their spiritual life do not grow up, how much differences do they have from the non-Christians? How much differences do they have from the Pharisees? We indeed got out of the Egypt, but how many can enter Canaan?

2. The way to be holy is the way of cross.

Some people only take the faith as the placebo. They do not like the truth of the Suffering Theology; only like the falsehood of Prosperity Theology. On one hand, the humiliation and pain of the cross shows the love of God; on the other hand, it shows how big the sins and evils of men are.

“and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. ” (Mat 10:38)

LORD Jesus Christ’s way of cross accomplished the salvation for the mankind. We Christians should carry our own cross to follow the steps of LORD. LORD Jesus Christ not only set the example for us, but also sent His Holy Spirit to help our Christians to walk on the way of cross, which is the way to pass the tests and fights, to be away from sins and to rely on LORD to overcome.

The way to be holy is the way of cross. No one can sit in the sedan chair to enter the heaven.
