Hi Jane, Sorry I didn't see your message till now. In your case I think you have to wait for the 2nd hcg data, which is supposed to double every 2 to 3 days. I think most of the time if the embryo has chromosome problems it will cause miscarriage at the first few weeks. So possibly the ultra sound may not be so reliable and it is just a false alarm. Don't worry too much. You cannot control the development of your embryo at this moment, but you can try to relax and stay calm which is always helpful. One of my friend just got a twin at the age of 39 after a few times of miscarriages. Best wishes for you and your pregnancy.
