When I first read George Orwell's Animal Farm and saw the movie 1984 after I came to the US, I could not believe his prescience and accuracy on the evils of collectivism in the 40's the heydays of communism.
Ron Paul is too good for this country, and for that matter, for any country. Like you, I am pessimistic about the future of this country, or the humanity. Most people do not truly like liberty despite what they profess otherwise.
That makes you not only a rarity amongst the professors, but an endangered species. :-) Most of these professors would have preferred Chairman Mao over Chairman Obama had Mao been in the race.

Yes, I read Orwell's Fairy story, and agree with Paul's ideas.

In the end, Romney is slightly better but not that different from Chairman Obama. Are you familiar with what Ron Paul advocates. What do you think of his principles?
By the way, have you ever read Animal Farm by George Orwell?

That's exactly what I am saying. You seem to be repulsed by Chairman Obama. I am asking if that makes you a rarity amongst your colleagues, and also if the fact that Obama repulses you is due to your experience of the socialism in China in your formative years.
I am a bit surprised that a humanities professor would not lean towards Chairman Obama. Do you think you are a rarity amongst your colleagues in terms of political leaning? Could it be that you see Obama as a socialist as he truly is because you have seen exactly what would happen to US if his policy continues just as it had happened to China only a few decades ago?
