米開朗基羅 和他的 大衞雕像

 

大衛立像（David）是文藝復興時代由 米開朗基羅 於1501年至1504年雕成，

用以表現大衛王決戰敵國巨人歌利亞時的神態。高 5.17 公尺、重5000多公斤，

 

米開朗基羅26歲著手30歲時完成，雕像由一整塊 白大理石雕成，

米開朗基羅精研肌膚血管紋路及關節，此大衞立像被推崇為古典雕刻藝術的典範。

1504年9月8日，大衛雕像首次在佛羅倫薩展出。

原作 現置於 意大利 佛羅倫薩學院 藝廊，每年都會吸引約120萬人前去參觀。

 

 

 

 

 

據傳原石來自阿爾卑斯山卡拉拉山，

這塊大理石在大教堂的庭院中已閑置了三十五年，

這塊石材 長19英尺 但寬厚尚不到2英尺。

佛羅倫薩大教堂擬以此巨石雕刻成具有英雄氣概的 以色列第二個國王 大衞

因材施雕 這樣的尺寸對於雕塑家在構思和雕刻時均頗費腦筋，

不得有誤，否則前功盡棄。

有二個雕塑家曾經接手，皆終因料石的尺寸和題材限定，不敢冒然下手而作罷

後來佛羅倫薩大教堂欲 由剛從外地回到佛羅倫薩的 米開朗基羅來完成

26嵗的小米 欣然接受了此重托， 且果不負眾望。

落成的大衛雕像的直觀裸露曾引起非議，被強行穿上28片銅製無花果樹葉來遮羞。

1527年佛羅倫薩暴動中被敲斷左前臂，也曾經遭受雷擊，

1991年還有瘋狂藝術家拿鎚子敲傷他的腳趾，都經細心修護復原。

1873年原尊被遷移到藝術學院畫廊迄今，在佛羅倫薩，後繼者共複製有二尊

大衛像擺放在公眾場所展出，

一尊是在米開朗基羅廣場中央，另一尊在市政廣場的大門前。

 

以往的藝術家雕描述大衛時，多集中他割下歌利亞的巨頭，取得勝利的情景；

但米開朗基羅的大衛像則是 決戰前的瞬間，側重表現他的臉部表情及身軀肢體，

呈現出雙眉緊鎖 怒目全神貫注地直視前方。

 

這雕像是與敵手 歌利亞 （Goliath) 決戰場上，大衛 投擲石頭前的瞬景。

大衛的左手輕取背後肩上的拋石器，右手握石，手背青筋暴脹，

但目視前方 有些緊張 思慮籌謀

如何智取 巨人 歌利亞 的刹那空間定格。

米開朗基羅展示了紮實的專業知識

使 人體解剖骨架肌肉筋膚的狀態和比例 栩栩逼真，

飽脹的靜脈再現臨場應激的生理實況，

而略有誇張的大手則表現了力感與力強。

（小生唯有不明：

大衞的左手 拇指 “捏”著 而非 “握”著 投石器的 背帶，

為何？ 自然嗎？）

 

 

 

 

David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501 and 1504,

by the Italian artist Michelangelo. It is a 5.17 metre (17 foot) marble statue of a

standing male nude. The statue represents the Biblical hero David, a favoured subject

in the art of Florence. Originally commissioned as one of a series of statues of

prophets to be positioned along the roofline of the east end of Florence Cathedral,

the statue was instead placed in a public square, outside the Palazzo della Signoria,

the seat of civic government in Florence, where it was unveiled on 8 September 1504.

Because of the nature of the hero that it represented, it soon came to symbolize the

defense of civil liberties embodied in the Florentine Republic, an independent city-state 

threatened on all sides by more powerful rival states and by the hegemony of the 

Medici family. The eyes of David, with a warning glare, were turned towards Rome.

The statue was moved to the Accademia Gallery in Florence in 1873, and later

replaced at the original location by a replica.

 

David was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel 

according to the Hebrew Bible and,

according to the Gospels of Matthew and Luke,

an ancestor of Jesus Christ.

Edwin Thiele dates his life to c. 1040–970 BC,

his reign over Judah c. 1010–1003 BC,

and his reign over the united Kingdom of Israel c. 1003–970 BC.
