The imagination is magnificent. In places it fires up beautifully and poetically.  The philosophy seems very shallow or lacking. However I cherish the scale of the work (it makes you feel that the universe isn't really that big) and the confidence carried in it with Chinese characters being the protagonists against the whole universe as the background. 

But the philosophy just doesn't seem that right even from purely a logical point of view.
