1, Those indentify with what they already know. Therefore they always defend what they know.
In reality, perhaps most people fall into this trap more or less, myself included.
2, Those prefer what they like to know even when the contrary exists. Therefore they always claim moral righteousness since this is the only way to turn away from the contrary edvidence and feel comfortable.
