我自己的想法是：If India rises, its true enemy is the framework of today's world designed by western powers as a result of western colonialism in the past few centuries. This will exert enough pressure from which India's leadership will be able to derive more than enough force to hold India together.
The Indian government is portraying China as the enemy for now mainly because India has not yet entered that phase as to make the West feel threatened. But according to the author of the article, India won't survive into that phase. He may be right. I can't tell. However, China can't serve India's leadership as India's fake enemy for long simply because it is only a fake enemy.
