你界定的愛國者的起因並不一定是愛國 . They are but world lovers, truth lovers. It is just that the west happens to be the one contradicting this value, therefore they are critical about the west in this sense. People with this value are naturally sincere people, and while China, which happens to their homeland, is the one under attack, therefore they defend it. It doesn't matter where they live in this moment. To you, this is patriotism per se. It is patriotism, but it is only a result of something more fundamental.
However, you are right about one thing: If this contradiction goes too deep and overwhelms, the "patriotic" individuals should return to their homeland. Yet, the contradiction doesn't necessarily overwhelm, and the west needs voices like this within its borders too. Image if all Chinese in the Western world are self-haters....I personally met some Americans holding opinions"against their own country" and favor China. Where are they supposed to go? Of course, if one is overwhelmed like Edward Snowden, then he must flee.
Your arguments seem black and white, and rest on divisions among different camps. That may be why you can't see anything beyond the identities you have cartoonized for others.
