As I stated before, the west can manipulate Russia just now by accepting it into the core west. But then Russia may split into several states since it will find no justifications in holding itself in one single identity when this identity offers no substantial enough cultural contents in the ocean of western civilization.
Now, in reality, Russia is rejected by the core west. It finds consequentially more reasons to stay unified under one identity, but then this big state is going to be lacking depth as to brew some universal purpose to guide itself in this world.
US will split too due to lacking deep culture.
China is the only country on earth that is big enough, deep enough.
