I had some awkward experience from years ago though it was only anecdotal. I met someone of Taiwanese descent whose father was a very well accomplished professor of medicine in some top green ivy university. He was developing a career in the film industry as a director and thus owned a large collection of films, from which I borrowed one of Bruce Lee's.
A while later, I returned the DVD to him in a cafe. He was upset about my conduct and told me that I wasn't supposed to return a Bruce Lee film to him in a public place like this, because Bruce Lee beat up white people in the his movies therefore it wasn't appropriate with what I was doing...
What the hell .... !!! ???
"Cultural revolution" immediately came up to my mind. I still can't believe it down to the present day.
