有意思的一個現像:北美出生或幼年移民的華裔反而往往對西方(人)不抱幻想。我多次有此經驗。

最近一次:a man from my floor who came from Tai wan when he was a child expressed a view extremely close to mine about western powers. He stated that he hoped China would eventually become sufficiently strong as to displace western powers, and which, he believed, would benefit the whole world.

I suspect that many people here don't quite talk about issues like this with their children (if old enough). Or they easily dismiss what doesn't fit their expectations.

Sometimes the second generation has bitter experiences, hearing them out would offset the mindset of the older generation.
