I think 立 has been deflected by the China bashers he calls 小馮.

Gu is an "indicator" , not a "representative" of today's China.

Like I said before, the China bashers always like to create Contradictions from events in China. In this case, Gu and 徐州婦人. But they are not contradictions, they are just contrasts. They are both parts of China's reality. They are both indicators of different aspects of the Chinese world.

The China bashers insist that they contradict, therefore you can choose only one from them to "represent" China.  立 falls into this trap and follows their logic.  The difference is that he has chosen Gu. 

I would ignore the China bashers.

I still believe Gu is sincere with her representing China.  It is likely part of her identity search.  Just imagine yourself being her, winning two Golds for the home country of your mother who raised you as a single Mom would make you feel very good, and is a big confirmation of the Chinese half of yourself as a mixed race young person, don't you think?
